UN Commission for Social DevelopmentThe Special Rapporteur reports on a regular basis to the UN Commission for Social Development. He has prepared and delivered two reports, 1997 and 2000. The reports have been prepared in consultation with the panel of experts. The work of the Special Rapporteur indicates that the UN Standard Rules are being widely used by governments to develop disability policy and in preparation of new legislation. The disability organizations use the Standard Rules as a major source of inspiration in their advocacy.
